Legions
Legions is one of those low budget movies that feels like it’s bitten off more than it can chew; the film is theoretically a fun, gory romp, but it clearly doesn’t quite have the budget for that, so it’s all buildup without a whole lot of payoff. The movie — which finds a former expert in the occult, now locked up, springing into action when he’s told a demon is after his daughter — too often spins its wheels, building up to would-be fun set-pieces it can’t quite deliver on. It’s generally not boring, but the whole thing just feels half-baked — so many elements of the film just never coalesce into anything interesting, with the ultra-abrupt “Poochie went back to his home planet” ending probably being the worst example of this.
