The Legend of Baron To’a
About a guy who comes back to his old neighbourhood thinking that he’s outgrown it, only to realize that he’s become out of touch with who he used to be, The Legend of Baron To’a doesn’t exactly have the freshest premise. But it’s endearing enough, with a reasonably memorable group of characters and a deft handling of tone that does a solid job of balancing the film’s lighthearted comedy with more dramatic heft. Nothing about it particularly stands out, but it’s certainly entertaining, and concludes with a surprisingly fantastic extended action set-piece. There’s a little bit of action up to that point, but the film transforms into an all-out brawl in its third act and it’s an absolute delight.
