The End We Start From
The End We Start From seems like it should be better than it is. About a couple and their newborn baby who struggle to survive after most of England is flooded by an apocalyptic rainstorm, the film is well made and it’s certainly well acted (Jodie Comer is great in the main role; all the supporting performances are just as good). It has a bunch of scenes that seem like they should be pretty engrossing. But it never clicks. It’s dull. It constantly feels like it’s right on the verge of ramping up and finally getting interesting, but the moment never comes.
