Look Who’s Talking Too
A perfunctory, underwhelming sequel, Look Who’s Talking Too follows John Travolta’s James and Kirstie Alley’s Mollie as their relationship is put to the test after the birth of their second child, Julie (voiced by Roseanne Barr). There’s never really a point at which filmmaker Amy Heckerling is able to wholeheartedly justify Look Who’s Talking Too‘s existence, as the movie, written by Heckerling and Neal Israel, predominantly seems to be going through the motions for the duration of its less-than-speedy 81 minutes – with the movie, which has been aggressively geared towards small children, generally devoid of compelling sequences or character moments. (There’s an admittedly charming interlude wherein Travolta’s character dances with a group of children, but that’s ultimately the exception rather than the rule.) And although the picture fares relatively well when focused on James and Mollie’s relationship-based exploits, Look Who’s Talking Too is, for the most part, a far-from-compelling followup that seems unlikely to please even the most ardent of Look Who’s Talking fans.
