Jackass Forever
Johnny Knoxville and the Jackass gang, which includes Steve-O, Chris Pontius, and Jason ‘Wee Man’ Acuña, return in this tedious and mostly unwatchable endeavor that’s rarely as fun as one might’ve anticipated, with the increasingly interminable atmosphere perpetuated by a continuing emphasis on objectionable, cringeworthy episodes – with the arms-length atmosphere compounded by the troupe’s frequent penchant for incorporating animals into their dangerous stunts (ie it’s just unpleasant stuff, generally speaking). And while the movie does boast a very small handful of admittedly amusing set-pieces, including a funny bit wherein Knoxville disguises himself as an old man and goes furniture shopping, Jackass Forever is, by and large, dominated by a surfeit of lackluster and flat-out desperate sketches that cumulatively ensure that it feels much, much longer than its 96 minutes – which cements its place as an entirely superfluous entry within a predominantly pointless series.
