How to Have Sex

About a group of partying teen girls who (eventually) find themselves dealing with the aftermath of an unwanted sexual encounter, How to Have Sex is well made, but mostly pretty grating. The problem here is that like 75 percent of the movie consists of the teens drunkenly partying and/or drunkenly yelling at each other regarding how excited they are about the forthcoming partying. I understand why these scenes are necessary for the story being told, but that doesn’t make them any less unpleasant to watch. There are a few powerful moments once the plot kicks in, but so much of this movie is just a straight-up drag to sit through.
