Daaaaaali!

If you’re expecting Daaaaaali! — about a reporter who wants to interview Salvador Dali — to be a standard biopic (or a biopic at all), this definitely isn’t that. It’s very much a Quentin Dupieux movie that happens to be about Salvador Dali. And on that level, it’s exactly what you want it to be — it’s got all the oddball weirdness, deadpan humour, and quirky style that’d you’d expect from Dupieux. The eccentric Dali actually proves to be a perfect match for Dupieux’s sensibilities. As usual, the zany film might have overstayed its welcome, but Dupieux knows exactly how much is too much of his very particular brand of humour, and the movie runs at a snappy 78 minutes.
