The Kitchen

Though it’s solidly made and features a great lead performance from Kano, The Kitchen feels like a bit of a misfire. About a guy in a future version of London who encounters a kid who might be his son, there are some interesting visuals and ideas here, but the plotting feels muddled and the whole thing just never adds up to all that much. Daniel Kaluuya, who makes his directorial debut here along with co-director Kibwe Tavares, probably shouldn’t be quitting his day job.
